This April and May, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be keeping an eye on the Minor League Baseball box scores, hoping to see a lot of doubles hit. Minor League Baseballs’ charity campaign, “Winning with Doubles,” gives fans an opportunity to show their support for Big Brothers Big Sisters by making donations whenever a double is hit. Fans from across the country can pledge to make a donation of a self-selected amount for every double hit by their favorite Minor League Baseball team during April and May.

As a part of a partnership with FanForward, Minor League Baseball will gather participant’s information and will allow donors to track progress. Following each month in the campaign, donors will receive a summary, asking for their tax-deductible donation. While all 160 Minor League Baseball teams will actively promote the initiative, only 120 that play in April and May will participate in the full initiative. However, all clubs will have the option to generate support and encourage donations for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

"Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America is proud to continue our partnership with Minor League Baseball through our ‘Winning With Doubles’ campaign," Pam Iorio, incoming CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, said. "The generous support of baseball fans across the country will help Big Brothers Big Sisters create more professionally supported mentoring matches between adult volunteers and children who face adversity. Baseball is America’s pastime and we know that people are equally enthusiastic about supporting a program proven to help children succeed in school and life."

The campaign will include airtime on the big screens during the game and a big social media push.  Encourage friends and family to take part too! Big Brothers Big Sisters supporters are encouraged to play along and participate with the “Winning with Doubles” campaign. When out with your family at the ballgame, cheering on your local team, consider how even a small donation in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters can help positively impact the life of a child.
